GeA Education and the funeral
of princess Nefer-Elfia
During the EFF Geert Dekkers and Alex De Vliegere will bring some aspects of ancient Egypt to life. A Pharaoh will grace Elfia with a visit. The prince is looking forward to meet the Elfian residents who are dressed according to the ancient Egyptian fashion. Those who excel will be rewarded royally with a magic amulet in the form of a winged scarab. The pharaoh will also lead a  number of ceremonies.
In the pyramid tent he gives a lecture about who the god Anubis associated with the underworld was, mummification and burial rites. During this reading special attributes are displayed, such as a canopy and the Anubis Shrine. Then he takes part in the striking funeral procession that goes through Elfia. Everything revolves around the mummy of Egyptian princess Nefer-Elfia, a daughter of the pharaoh. Her mummy is covered with jewels and amulets. Her life in Elfia was marked by beauty and brilliance. Her last wish was that the residents of Elfia take part and accompany her festively during the trip to her 8-meter high pyramid. This will be her where her mummy will be placed. To celebrate that Princess Nefer-Elfia officially joined the pantheon of gods anyone can participate in a hilarious hieroglyph -bingo. The Pharaoh will lead the bingo. He is still looking for a charming assistant. Playfully the participants gain knowledge of these Ancient Egyptian characters and their meaning. Obviously there are great prizes to win.

MOHAMED FAIZAL
The Singaporean Mohamed Faizal is the first Malay to perform professionally on the traditional Chinese instrument, the Guzheng.
During EFF, he will not only play Chinese music, but also some Singapore folk tunes, Indian and South Asian music, Egyptian songs and even compositions with  avant-garde influences.
Faizal started his musical career with the erhu, a Chinese fiddle. Ever since then, I have been playing different types of Chinese fiddles, and in 1999 he decided to take up the Guzheng.
With a recent festival performance in Guangxi, China, he is the first Singaporean to perform solo in China.
In 2012, in conjunction with an arts exhibition by a Russian artist, he will be releasing his first album specially composed to the theme of the exhibition. He also performs on a regular base with other artists, for instance with a Tabla (Indian drum) Master and great Sitar teacher.
His love for the instrument has inspired many youngsters from different races to venture into the Chinese music and traditional musical instruments. His performances prove that Guzheng is an instrument not only to play traditional Chinese music but also modern tunes and tunes from different cultures.
Expect Faizal to perform in the recently restored Roman Gardens of Castle de Haar where you can relax and wander while he will hypnotise you with the magical sounds of his Guzheng.
